5 rules for responsible development
Cut down on energy use
We make sure our clients' digital solutions use as little energy as possible. Energy consumption is always a top priority when we advise on IT architecture and platform choices. Our architecture and circular procurement models ensure minimal data movement, reducing the load on energy and bandwidth. Plus, we use servers and data centres powered by green energy.
Transparency
We don't use dark patterns in our designs. Our solutions are developed to give users the ability to make informed choices for their own benefit. We never hide important information or try to get users to do something that's not in their best interest. And we're very careful not to create any negative dependencies for our users.
Your data is your data
Data collection should be minimised to the lowest possible level, and data should be stored securely. We ensure that it's just as easy to delete data as it is to provide it. And we don't just comply with laws and data regulations; we proactively design solutions and architecture so that data collection is done for the users' benefit.
Accessibility
Everyone should have equal opportunities to use digital solutions. That's why we make sure our design, code, and content are accessible to everyone, no matter their physical, cognitive, or social abilities.
Artificial intelligence
We use AI mindfully, keeping people, the environment, and society in mind. This means we don't use AI in user interfaces without making it clear that there's AI behind the scenes. Plus, we set up internal governance to make sure there's always human oversight of the AI.
We believe
From big data to conscious data

More isn't always better
At Pentia, we are dedicated to 'conscious data' – a way of managing data that prioritises users' rights and privacy first. We still need data to create great customer experiences. But it needs to be thoughtful. Christian Ruud, Co-CEO of Pentia, visited The Danish ICT Industry Association to discuss how to work responsibly with user data.
Environment, social responsibility, and ethical conduct
We also look inward. Our work within the company is based on the UN's 17 Sustainable Development Goals, and we've picked out 4 main areas to focus on: sustainability, active charity, health, and learning & education.
In a nutshell, we focus on everything from sorting waste and cutting down on energy use to fostering inclusivity and maintaining a healthy workplace. And, of course, we do much more.
Environment
We're always working to reduce our environmental impact by:
- Cutting waste, boosting recycling, and reducing pollution.
- Lowering energy and water use.
- Using eco-friendly materials and products.
- Making sure our operations and solutions put minimal strain on the energy system.

Social responsibility
We take social responsibility seriously by:
- Ensuring high employee satisfaction and good working conditions.
- Supporting our local communities through education, charity, and volunteer work.
- Promoting diversity and inclusion – both within our organisation and in the solutions we develop.

Ethical conduct
We set high standards for ethics and integrity in our business by:
- Following laws on compliance, data security, and GDPR.
- Keeping our board of directors independent.
- Making sure users of our solutions can make informed choices for their own benefit.
